Dear Community Nursing..

This semester has got to have the most boring challenging lectures of all. All 3 classes so far. I am, however, getting to do my clinicals in Mother Baby the first half of the semester. I'm pretty excited about that, and hope that it will definitely show me if that's something I'm really interested in doing in the future.
We have completed 2 full weeks of our running schedule. Sunday we ran 6 miles. (Okay so we probably only ran about 4 of , but we finished.) It hurt. But the best part is knowing that we CAN. (and that we only have 2 miles tonight.)
So looking forward to April 15 (the race) and then May 11 (graduation!!!)
Until then...

Man, my body feels old!

We are 1/3 of the way through our 2nd week of the 14 weeks to 10 miles training routine. Last week we made the mistake of putting off our long (5 mile) run/walk until Monday instead of doing it on Sunday. Which means we had to follow it with 2 miles of running on Tuesday. Man, I ached. My body could have really used that day of rest that Monday was supposed to have been. Tonight we have 3 miles and Sunday is 6 miles. I hate it while it's happening, but love it when it's over. On cross training nights we are rotating volleyball and weight training. I already feel 10 times better (minus my hips and knees aching all the time).

School started this week. My LAST semester before reaching my goal of BSN. Then starts the new goal, MSN. But one thing at a time :). Until then...

14 weeks to 10 miles...

Starts tomorrow. In April, Joel has arranged for us to run the Austin 10-20, a 10 mile race with 20 bands along the way. So...starting tomorrow we have a training plan designed to get us ready for the 10 miles. Hopefully I don't keel over :)

Good night, 2011...Good morning, 2012!

And today starts a new year. If what they say is true, (about whatever you do on New Years day, you will do all year long) I am going to spend a lot of time with the most amazing man I know, hanging out with the friends we love, watching football and snuggling. That will be just fine with me!
Last night we rang in the New Year at the Granada in Dallas with Kirby Brown (accompanied by sister, Kelsey), Ishi, and JT and the Northern Lights. Fantastic show! Here are just a couple of pics...(more will be added when I can get them from Christian) I didnt take my camera, b/c I was afraid it would get broken (and it probably would have, that place was PACKED)
My sweet girls, Jack and Holly

                                                           The hubs being silly :)
                                                                                 Me :)
                                                                  Mr. Kirby Brown himself
Us girls later in the evening
The boys this morning, minus Dillon who sleeps in the closet haha

I look forward to 2012 and instead of making resolutions that I won't keep, I will set goals each month. January, I hope to be on the treadmill (or street if the weather is pretty enough) at least 4 nights a week 30 minutes a night. I hope to be running 3.1 miles, no walking, by the end of January. I will do everything I can to make these hopes a reality.
