Countdown

Reality check at the gym tonight. I hopped up on that scale (granted I had on two shirts, long pants and shoes) and weighed more than I have ever weighed. 147.6! That's not even 3 pounds from 150!
My goal was never to lose weight but to just tone up. However, I wasn't doing much toward that...I have a new goal. 135. Just 12.6 pounds. I'm hoping for at least 5 pounds by NYE, but am gonna work super hard. Eating better, which needs to be a lifetime change, drinking way more water (which I'm bad about) and running every day. We'll see.
Joel also has a goal, and we're working together. That makes it so much easier, knowing that his eating habits will change too.
so...hopefully 5 pounds in 11 days. I'll be posting progress, for my own accountability.
5 days til Christmas :) yay!

Christmas Blankets

For the past couple of weeks our church has been collecting fleece blankets to give to the residents of every local nursing home. We pulled in over 400!! Tonight, we met in the family life center and wrapped them and in the next couple of weeks before Christmas we will be delivering them, and possibly singing some carols.
I'm writing about this because tonight was incredible to me... Enough people showed up that we had the 400 blankets separated between male and female colors, wrapped, and separated into correct nursing homes in 35 minutes! I can't wait until our groups' night to deliver! It's going to be so exciting!

Took the Puppers on a field trip

Our dogs hardly get to go anywhere anymore, so last weekend Joel and I loaded them up and took them on a little trip to the "40 acres" (land Joel's sister and brother-n-law own) They had such a good time, Beans especially b/c she's good enough that we could let her off of the leash to just run around. Poor Knox had to just run behind her on the leash *dragging me along with*

Beans sniffing out the pile of cow bones...gross!
Sweet girl loved running around =)

I had to run too, but Knox got his fair share of exercise
This is the spot of land we might, someday, maybe, build a home.
Up on the hill is where we would want a house built, if we do.

Our sweet little home and Turkey Trot 2011

Joel took these pics of our current house and the trees before we lost all of the leaves ...

On Thanksgiving Day, Joel's sister, Sandi, and I "ran" the Turkey Trot in Fort Worth. It was definitely a first for me. I've never ran "competitively" and was not very good at it. But I intend to do much better the next time and hopefully by next Thanksgiving I can do the 10K instead of the 5K.
Before the Race..when we were not about to die lol
 In Starbucks after the race...

New Camera...

This...
Is my new camera... it's the Nikon J1...it is so much smaller than an SLR (it's actually just the size of a regular digital camera) but comes with interchangable lenses!! I loooove it!
SO hopefully now that I have this little beauty, I will be inspired to take more pictures, therefore blogging more. We shall see ~
